This week I chatted with Jackie Hosking at PASS IT ON, about apple babies in particular and my work as an illustrator in general, in an interview for the children’s book writing and illustrating e-zine…
I’ve received a lot of messages recently, asking for advice on how an author would present an idea for a picture book to an agent or publisher, and in particular whether to include illustration notes. So, (as promised) I thought it might be useful to show how I do it.
I’ve waved goodbye to My Sunbeam Baby, and the files are off to the printers. I have to admit it’s hard to let go — I had such fun painting every single one of those three hundred little babies. But they’ll be back... and there’ll be even more of them! (In the shops, in October.)
The Children's Book Council of Australia celebrates children's books all year round... but the excitement of the 2019 CBCA Book of the Year Awards has just begun, with the release of the CBCA Notable Books lists. You can imagine my joy at discovering 'My Sunbeam Baby’ in the Picture Books category! You can find all the CBCA Notables here.
